Headlight Lens Repair by Post
Headlight lens repair means fixing or replacing the clear polycarbonate cover on your existing headlight, not buying a new unit. Send us the headlight from anywhere in the UK or Ireland: we repair the lens in our workshops in Ciudad Real and Valencia, Spain, reseal the unit and post it back ready to fit. You pay a fraction of a new headlight and keep the original part, with a warranty.
When a headlight lens can be repaired
A stone chip, a crack from a minor knock or a deep scratch through the coating: these are lens jobs, not headlight jobs. The rest of the unit stays as it is.
We don't polish yellowed lenses and we don't sell restoration kits. This is repair of a damaged lens and, where the damage is too far gone, replacement of the lens on your own housing.
If the crack runs into the housing or the mounting tabs, tell us in the quote form and we will price both together.
Replacing the headlight lens
On most modern headlights the lens is bonded to the housing with a seal that opens with controlled heat. That is what makes headlight glass replacement possible without touching the LED, xenon or halogen internals.
A dealer will quote you to replace headlight lens and housing together. What we do instead:
- Open the original seal without deforming the housing.
- Fit a new lens to your headlight.
- Reseal the full perimeter and check the unit is watertight.
Headlamp lens repair, when the damage allows it, follows the same route without the new lens.
Resealing after the repair
A lens glued back with a tube of sealant from the forecourt lets water in within a season: a misted headlight that can be picked up at the MOT or NCT.
We reseal the whole perimeter, not just the crack: the old seal comes off and new sealant goes on before the unit is closed. If your headlight already has water inside, drying it out is part of the same job.

Send us photos of the lens and the housing, plus the make, model, registration and VIN, and you get a quote within 24 hours. The quote confirms the courier, the cost of shipping both ways, the transit time and how to pay, before you send anything. Once accepted, the headlight travels to the workshop, is repaired in about 72 hours there, and is posted back packed as it arrived. Price and warranty
Lens repair or replacement starts from €400 per headlight. The fixed price comes with the quote.
Every repaired headlight carries a one-year written warranty, which covers the seal as well as the lens.
Frequently asked questions
Is it cheaper to repair the lens than to replace the whole headlight?
Almost always. A complete LED or xenon headlight is one of the more expensive parts on the car, and the internals in yours are usually fine. Lens repair on your own housing costs a fraction of that.
Do you polish yellowed headlights?
No. Polishing and restoration kits deal with a hazy surface; we repair or replace lenses that are cracked, chipped or deeply scratched, and reseal the headlight afterwards.
Will the new lens fit my headlight model?
Send us the photos and the registration and we confirm before you post anything. Where no lens exists for your model, we quote the repair route instead.
